The canton of Vaud is criss-crossed by motorway A1, which links Austria
to France. The motorway exits of Cossonay, Aubonne, Gland and Nyon as
well as the Essert Pittet junction let you easily join the three
mountain passes around Vallée de Joux. Over the Col du Mont d’Orzeires
(1060m), Mollendruz (1180m) or Marchairuz (1449m) you pounce on Vallée
de Joux and its charming villages around the lake.
International Airport of Geneva-Cointrin, it only takes you 60 minutes
to get to Vallée de Joux. From Lausanne, the capital of the canton of
Vaud, it takes 45 minutes and from Bern around 90 minutes.
Switzerland you need a road tax vignette to drive on the motorways. It
costs CHF 40.- and is valid until the end of January the following year.
It can be had in post offices and petrol stations.
Thanks to the local train service,
Vallée de Joux is connected to the CFF and TGV railway station in
Vallorbe. From any railway station in Switzerland, there is a train that
takes you to Vallée de Joux every hour.
From the International Airport of Geneva-Cointrin, you will reach our
valley by train in 90 minutes. From Lausanne, you will need only 60
minutes and from Bern 2 hours and 30 minutes.
From the railway station in Yverdon-les-Bains, a bus takes you to Vallorbe, from where you continue to Vallée de Joux by train.
During your stay in our valley, buses and trains connect the different villages every hour.
The nearest airport to Vallée de Joux is the International Airport of Geneva-Cointrin.
From the International Airport of Geneva you easily get to Vallée de
Joux. Whatever country you arrive from, the railway station right at the
airport takes you further. You will need around 90 minutes to reach
Vallée de Joux by train and 60 minutes by car.
Airport of Zürich-Kloten is also well served by public transport. You
will reach Vallée de Joux by train in 3 hours and 10 minutes and by car
in 2 hours and 30 minutes.
